Distinct Distributors Inc. (DDI), a Canadian corporation, was founded in June 2014.
Mark Langley has over 40 years of experience in the A/V industry, mainly in the manufacturing and distribution sectors. He is the President of the company and works out of the head office is located outside of Toronto, ON.
Head office accepts technical and sales requests from across Canada as well as all invoicing and warranty procedures. The Ontario warehouse fulfills all orders from coast to coast. We also currently have several experienced sales reps located across Canada with designated territories, who professionally handle most sales transactions and quotations directly with the customer.
HOW WE STARTED
Distinct Distributors Inc. started out with a desire to distribute A/V products from coast to coast with a different approach from most other distributors. Our goal was to bring unique and innovative product lines to market that most integrators and dealers had not seen before, such as iEast audio streamers, or at least products that were not over distributed. We know it’s difficult to successfully sell a product and make a reasonable profit when every competitor of yours has the same product. Also, being a Canadian company, we wanted to be able to offer as many quality Canadian products as possible. To date, we have been extremely successful with Canadian product lines such as Hafler amplifiers, Angstrom speakers, MuxLab electronics, Perplas wire management and MainStream Audio speaker wire. And we’re still looking for more unique and innovative product lines from Canada and worldwide.
Also, at Distinct Distributors Inc., we try to take a new and unique approach to how we get our products to our customers as fast and inexpensive as possible. We have the cheapest rates available for shipping Grandview projector screens and also have a freight allowance that applies to all products sold by DDI. Unlike other distributors that only offer a “Free Freight” program to customers that can meet the minimum dollar amount to qualify, at DDI we give a freight allowance up to the total cost of the freight for each order. The freight allowance is immediately applied to the invoice and is not accumulated on the customer’s account for later use. In this way, every dealer gets the benefit of his purchases, big or small, in order to reduce his freight costs immediately. We are proud to say that our success to this point is due to our attention to service, product lines offered, pricing competitiveness and personal communications with everyone from our largest vendors to our smallest customers. Unlike most of the larger distributors, DDI is not in a hurry to have the most vendor logos on its website home page. Like our motto states, “We don’t carry a lot of brands, just the best ones”. Our goal is to do the best job possible promoting and supporting a smaller product list, rather than taking on too much and not being able to properly support both the vendor and customer alike.
